According to Duncan Wright of the British daily tabloid the Daily Star Real Madrid’s top player is on the verge of a sensational return to Manchester United.

Former Real Madrid president Ramón Calderon told TalkSport yesterday that Ronaldo was not quite as happy as people assumed at the Santiago Bernabeu saying:

I know that he is not happy at all with the attitude and behaviour of the president. He is asking for €20million net every season which is going to be difficult for Real to accept,” he told TalkSPORT’s Drive Time show:

“I think the president has all his eggs on the table just in case he can’t get the renewal of Cristiano. That is my impression.

“He’s afraid at some moment that Cristiano will say, ‘I am not going to go on’. That will be bad news for Madrid. I would like to see him retire at Real but now the situation is difficult. Let’s see in the next weeks or months if it can be sorted out and he can stay.”

According to the Daily Star Manchester United have been in talks with Madrid for the last ten days trying to work out a way to see the 27-year-old return to Old Trafford which is something that Nike are also involved in as currently every product that Ronaldo wears is made by United, except for his Real Madrid jersey that is made by Adidas.

Nike are kit sponsors for Manchester United and would love nothing more than to see one of the biggest players in the game wearing all their apparel.

For this fact alone, and the amount Real Madrid are willing to pay to for Bale there could be some truth to this story.
