Liverpool’s attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho is excited by the prospect of being able to play with his Brazilian international teammate next season at Anfield and thinks that the 23-year-old has all the skills needed to become successful on Merseyside.
Liverpool completed the signing of the Bundesliga striker on Wednesday paying Hoffenheim £21.3 million to make him the clubs fifth signing of the summer.
“I think it is great news,” Coutinho told the club’s official website.
“Firmino is a great player and obviously I know him from the Brazilian national team. He is a great character and person.
“He is strong physically, he is fast, agile, very skilful on the ball and he scores a lot of goals – he is a great forward. I am sure he will be of great help to us next season.”
