Pellegrini, MAN City, Premiership,

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has been promised £50 million for new signings provided that City is still in the Champions League and that the club are in the race to win the Premiership title.

Some of the money could be made available this week in order for him to buy a central defender before the transfer window closes on the 2nd of September.

Pellegrini’s main target remains Real Madrid’s 30-year-old Portuguese defender Pepe who he would like to sign for around £22 million.

City have managed to slash millions off their wage bill, and still bring in some top name signings that have all the football pundits picking them to win the Premiership title this season, and looking at the depth of the squad it is hard to argue that along with Chelsea and United they will finish certainly in the top three.
