Mata, Chelsea

Chelsea has told Manchester United that they will sell Juan Mata to them but that it will cost United £40 million to take the Spanish international to Old Trafford according to the Daily Mail.

While Manchester United manager David Moyes is seriously considering making an offer any deal will become complivcated due to Chelsea’s interest in signing Wayne Rooney, and United’s refusal to sell him.

The Red Devils have been scoring Europe for a midfielder and the 25-year-old Mata could just be what the doctor ordered as he would certainly tick all the right boxes.

Having hardly featured in the Chelsea team since the return of manager Jose Mourinho Mata who was a regular starter under previous managers is eager to play first team football ahead of next summer’s World Cup in Brazil is not getting to play at Stamford Bridge due to Mourinho preferring to start Oscar, Willian and Eden Hazzard ahead of him.

The Spaniard who is just now coming into his peak years as a footballer would relish a move to Old Trafford so now it is just up to the two clubs to broker a deal.
