According to sports journalist Duncan Castles, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is very interested in Lyon’s Cameroon international defender Samuel Umtiti who is said to be available this summer for 15€ million.
What the Portuguese manager likes about the 21-year-old is that he is equally at home playing as a centre-back or as a left-back, which has the Blues boss pencilling him in should Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis leave the Bridge this summer as seems highly likely after just one season in west London.
Umtiti has been with Lyon since he was eight-years-old and has now made 100 appearances in Ligue 1 proving that he is good enough to play in the French top-flight and with Arsenal and Liverpool also said to be interested we expect Mourinho to make his move for yet another highly-rated young defender.
