Barcelona winger Pedro looks all set to be on his way to west London after Chelsea met Barcelona’s £22 million release clause for the 27-year-old Spanish international.

Compared to other teams in the Premiership Chelsea appears to be slow off the mark in this summer’s transfer games, but is looking to make up lost time now.

Arguably it has to be said that Jose Mourinho has the best squad in the Premiership following their comfortable win of the title next season, but being the tough competitor that he is Blues boss Mourinho is not one to sit around and firmly has his eyes set on winning the Champions League.

Radamel Falcao is now the man who must show he can produce the goods by regaining the form he once had while playing for Atletico Madrid, while all Chelsea fans must surely be delighted to have signed Asmir Begovic as a back up to Belgium international Thibaut Courtois.

And while both of these signings appear to be good let’s not forget that they are both simply replacements for Didier Drogba and Petr Cech.

On their way out of Stamford Bridge is Colombian international striker Juan Cuadrado who has failed to settle following his £23.5m January move from Fiorentina along with Loic Remy who is rumoured to be looking to move to Crystal Palace where he will link up with former Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew after becoming the third choice striker at Chelsea following the arrival of Falcao.

On their way in is 19-year-old Brazilian starlet Kenedy a similar player to Barcelona’s Neymar and hopefully a Chelsea star of the future along with another Brazilian Nathan who signed from Atletico Paranaense for an undisclosed fee.

Another player Chelsea is looking at is the £8 million rated Chilean international midfielder Charles Aranguiz whose work rate and defensive discipline would allow Cesc Fabregas to play a much more forward thinking game knowing that he has the 26-year-old former Internacional midfielder behind him.
