Following a crisis meeting between Blues manager Jose Mourinho and club owner Roman Abramovich on Monday to discuss Chelsea poor start to the season, Mourinho now seems poised to open the Russian billionaire’s cheque book in January and bring in a replacement for aging captain John Terry.

Mourinho spent all of the summer trying to sign young England centre-back John Stones from Everton, but now according to sources in France has switched his attention to Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian defender Marquinhos, after having watched the 21-year-old develop into one of Europe’s top talents since his move to the French champions from Roma.

The Brazilian international would certainly be a fine addition to Mourinho’s team, but the question is will PSG just like Everton refuse to let one of their top players leave?
