Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is prepared to sell long standing goalkeeper Petr Cech in order to get Thibaut Courtois back to Stamford Bridge after his three-year loan spell at Atletico Madrid according to the Daily Express.

Cech has been a mainstay of the Blues since joining the club from Rennes in 2004 going on to make 479 appearances for Chelsea.

Despite his undying loyalty for the club it would appear as if Chelsea boss Mourinho is about to call time up on the 32-year-old goalkeeper keeper in an effort to lure the 22-year-old Belgian international Courtois back to Stamford Bridge with the promise of regular first team football something that would not happen so long as Petr Cech remained at the club.

The Blues have already let Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Samuel Eto’o leave on free transfers and it would appear as if Mourinho is not done yet as he looks to revitalize his team with younger players that can challenge Manchester City for the Premiership title.

Meanwhile Courtois has openly expressed his desire to remain in Spain with Atletico Madrid, but Mourinho is willing to sacrifice Cech to show the Belgium how much importance he holds to the future of Chelsea.

A gutsy move by the Portuguese manager, but by sacrificing Cech he only has the clubs future in mind.
