Chelsea, Torres, Diego Costa

Chelsea is according to reports in METRO said to be putting together a new offer for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.

Chelsea has made the summer signing of a new striker their number one priority, and despite earlier interest shown in Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney and Gonzalo Higuain the 25-year-old Brazilian born player is the man Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho wants.

Reports in Spain are suggesting that Chelsea failed with a late bid during the January transfer window, but the club is now working on a new deal that will see Costa sign for Chelsea ahead of the World Cup.

The figure being talked about is £35 million with Chelsea willing to pay £20 plus offer former Atletico striker Fernando Torres as part of the deal.

An all cash deal would probably not temp Diego Simeone’s La Liga title chasers, but the opportunity to bring back the clubs former captain and fan favourite Torres might be too tempting to turn down.
