Everton manager Roberto Martinez’s latest signing is yet another Chelsea player Christian Atsu’s who will move to Goodison Park on a season long loan.

This follows on from Martinez managing to sign another Chelsea player Romelu Lukaku for £28million after the Belgium international had spent a season on loan with the Toffee’s.

This is now all leading to speculation that Everton has promised Chelsea a first option of signing their young stars Ross Barkley and John Stones something that manager Martinez denies, claiming there is no gentleman’s agreement in place between him and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

When speaking with talkSPORT Martinez said: “No, no, not at all. We have a good relationship and a professional relationship and I want to believe that they feel that they can trust us in sending players out on loan.

“I don’t think that relationship goes any further. The chairman (Bill Kenwright) has been instrumental in forging that relationship more than anyone.

“He has developed that bridge between the two clubs and there is a possibility for both to use it in a good way, but there is no commitment in any sort of future deals.”
