Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel was unable to complete a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce due to the fact the Blues have stuck too big a price tag on the 28-year-old.

Chelsea has stuck a whopping £25.2 million price tag on the Nigerian international which is quite incredible given the fact he is not a first team regular, and is equal to what a club would have to pay to sign Morgan Schneiderlin or Arturo Vidal, two player who are not only regulars but also rated higher than Mikel.

Fenerbahce’s president Aziz Yildirim was quoted as saying: ‘Chelsea want €35million for Mikel.’

The Istanbul based club has lured a few top players to Turkey this summer including Manchester United’s Robin van Persie, but they have now given up their pursuit of Mikel according to Turkish Football.
