Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been disappointed after having seen his £20 million bid for Spanish playmaker Isco knocked back by Real Madrid.

Real Madrid is claiming that both Chelsea and Juventus have made an approach for the 23-year-old midfielder from Benalmádena, but has told both clubs Isco is a part of new manager Rafa Benitez’s plans and that he is not for sale.

This is not a surprising move on Chelsea’s part as the Blues are in negotiations with Juventus for Brazilian midfielder Oscar, with manager Jose Mourinho ready to sacrifice the 23-year-old to complete other summer business.

The two clubs however are miles apart on the price, with the Italian champions initially wanting to take Oscar on a season long loan with an option to buy the Brazilian for £12 million should things work out with him in Turin.

This is nowhere near Chelsea’s valuation of the player, so the Blues may just end up having to keep him for one more season if they cannot find a buyer willing to meet their asking price.
