Chelsea may have just signed Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina, but they may not have needed to if manager Jose Mourinho had showed more confidence in Kevin De Bruyne.

Chelsea signed the young Belgium in 2012, but sold him to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg last January with him going on to become one of the Bundesliga’s rising stars.

Before the German winter break De Bruyne had racked up three goals and nine assists and started where he left off by inspiring Wolfsburg to a dramatic 4-1 win over league leaders Bayern Munich laying off the first goal to Bas Dost before banging in a brace to stun Pep Guardiola and his Bavarian team.
