After a disappointing start to the season, Chelsea manger Jose Mourinho has been given the green light by club owner Russian billionaire Roman Abramovic to go out and bring in a few more players before the transfer window closes in a couple of weeks’ time.

With the Blues interest in Everton defender John Stones already widely known, Chelsea has now reportedly opened talks with Lyon over the possible signing of Arsenal and Manchester United target Alexandre Lacazette.

According to British daily tabloid the Daily Star Chelsea is now frontrunners to land the £21 million rated French international, whose form last season saw him score an incredible 31 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions for his Ligue 1 side Lyon.

With Diego Costa now apparently well known to Chelsea’s Premiership rivals, and Radamel Falcao as a backup, the suggestion is that Chelsea would be willing to include Loic Remy in a deal to bring 24-year-old Alexandre Lacazette to Stamford Bridge.
