For some time now Barcelona has been following Villarreal centre-back Mateo Musacchio, who has gained admirers and been applauded for his play in Spain helping the Yellow Submarine finish 6th in La Liga after having just been promoted to Spain’s top-fight last season.
The Argentinian has been scouted by Barcelona and Chelsea on numerous occasions according to the website FDN and now that Barcelona has changed their minds the door is wide open for Chelsea to sign the 23-year-old.
Villarreal will be very reluctant to sell their top defender, but if Chelsea were to offer £15 million it would be hard for the Spaniards to say no.
