Another day and yet another story surrounding where former AC Milan star Alexandre Pato will end up at the end of the month, with reports today suggesting that Chelsea have entered the race for the Corinthians forward.

The 26-year-old Brazilian ace was once one of the biggest prospects on the European stage before injury forced him to return to South America and get his career back on track.

Now with an enticing value of just £11 million, it is hard by either Guus Hiddink or Jürgen Klopp not to take a gamble on the one time prodigy, and despite claims by the Independent that Klopp would have trouble convincing the former AC Milan starlet to join his project on Merseyside, it’s easy to see why the German would appear to be so keen, given the performance of Roberto Firmino in last night’s 3-3 draw with Arsenal that saw the former Hoffenheim man score two goals and narrowly miss out on a hat-trick.

To put Firmino, Pato and Liverpool’s best player Philippe Coutinho all together seems like a very appealing prospect to us, which means Klopp must now try to convince Pato to choose Anfield over Stamford Bridge and have all of Liverpool’s Brazilian contingent including Lucas Leiva get on the phone and tell Pato that Liverpool is the right club for him to make his European return with.

The Independent however says that Pato would prefer to play for Chelsea and live in London, so we will have to see which team wins out, and if Alexis Sanchez joining Arsenal rather than Liverpool is anything to go by, the appeal of living in a cosmopolitan capital can have a big sway over a footballers decision making.
