As the clock ticks down on the arrival of new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge, the former Juventus trainer is preparing the groundwork for what is expected to be a major overhaul at the club that could well see plenty of the Blues aging and underperforming stars being moved on.

The latest new signing being linked with Conte is Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore according to reports out of Italy which suggest the French champions may be prepared to part with the Argentinean playmaker providing they can recoup the £30 million they paid to Italian Serie A club Palermo for him back in 2011.

Chelsea however are not alone in their desire to sign the 26-year-old, with incoming Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola reported to have Pastore’s name on a list of players he wants to bring to the Etihad.

Manchester City just knocked PSG out of the Champions League to reach the semi-finals for the first time in the clubs history, yet despite this achievement the former Barcelona man is said to be set on overhauling Manuel Pellegrini’s team.

Despite this news Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, say Chelsea are in pole position to land Pastore after club representatives met with his agent to iron out a deal.
