Chelsea line-up Copa America winner to take over next summer

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has according to the Sun, been speaking to Chilean national team trainer Jorge Sampaoli about becoming the Blues next manager following the sacking of Jose Mourinho and tenure of Guus Hiddink as the interim boss at Stamford Bridge.

The 55-year-old Argentinian led Chile to victory last summer in the Copa America and has been shortlisted to be FIFA manager of the year along with Barcelona’s Luis Enrique and Bayern Munich’s Pep Guardiola.

Sampaoli is thought to be ready to leave his job with the Chilean national team, as both parties prepare to renegotiate early in the New Year leaving plenty of time for Chelsea to decide whether or not he would be the right man for the club.
