Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo is claiming today that Atletico Madrid’s on-loan from Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is desperate to join Catalan giants Barcelona.

The Belgium number one keeper is under contract with Chelsea until 2016 with much talk suggesting that Chelsea want him to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

The Spanish paper claims that he dreams of playing for Barcelona, and is tired of always being sent out on loan.

Courtois is well aware that current Barcelona goalkeepers Victor Valdes and Pinto will be leaving the club in the summer and sees himself as being the Nou camps new number one.

Where this dream runs into trouble is that Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has already promised the job to German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen.

El Mundo goes on to say that the Chelsea keeper will reject any offers from the Blues in the hope that Barcelona will change their minds and opt for him instead.
