Chelsea, Real Madrid

The Evening Standards Simon Johnson when speculating on any Chelsea moves in the transfer market this January says that the Blues have drawn up a pre-contract for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira who is out of contract with the Spanish giants at the end of the year.

The Blues did fantastic business during the summer adding a true goal scorer in the form of Diego Costa and the ideal midfielder partner for Nemanja Matic in Cesc Fabregas yet for a club to continue to be on top they must always be looking to bring players in and let others go during both transfer windows.

Manger Jose Mourinho knows the German international Khedira well from his time at Madrid and sees the 27-year-old as a chance to give him more options in the centre of the pitch as the Blues prepare to compete in four competitions.

Meanwhile there has been talk of number two goalkeeper Petr Cech moving to Madrid as part of any deal while both Liverpool and Arsenal are also interested in the experienced shot stopper.

Meanwhile Cech’s agent Viktor Kolar has said his client would remain with Chelsea at least until the summer.
