In what may seem like a whimsical tale the Sun this morning is running a story that claims Real Madrid and Chelsea are in talks to come up with a deal that will see Gareth Bale move to Stamford Bridge while Eden Hazard moves to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The story lists Real Madrid as the instigators with the Spanish giants eager to land the Belgium midfielder this summer and have offered Bale to Chelsea as a straight swap.

Gareth Bale’s future in Madrid has come into question recently after the Welshman fell afoul of the fans, and with several Spanish papers saying he and Ronaldo were no good playing together club president Florentino Perez would be willing to let Bale leave if he can have Hazard.

Just last week Real Madrid manager in waiting Zinedine Zidane called Hazard one of the top three players in the world, and after just being named the PFA Player of the Year it would be hard to imagine Chelsea trading him for Bale.

Stranger things have happened in football though, so I guess we will have to wait and see.
