SUPERSUB Tony Watt incredibly gave Celtic one of the greatest European nights in their history.

The teenager’s coolly-taken goal sealed a stunning Champions League victory over Lionel Messi’s Barcelona and he declared: “This is the best moment of my life.”

Rock star Rod Stewart cried tears of joy in the Parkhead stands as Neil Lennon’s brave Bhoys KO’d the Catalan giants.

Celtic boss Lennon roared: “We will go down in the history books as the team that beat the best team in the world.”

Watt, 18, added: “It will take a couple of hours for this result to sink in.

“I just saw Victor Valdes and put it in the corner. I couldn’t believe it.

“We’ll look back on this and say ‘Wow, we’ve beaten Barcelona in the Champions League’. It does not get better than that.

“The crowd were like a 12th man. I’ve never heard anything like it, the place was rocking.”

Victor Wanyama gave the Scots a shock 21st-minute lead before Watt pounced to send the fans delirious.

Immortal Messi grabbed an injury-time consolation but it did not dampen Celtic’s joy.

It was probably the club’s greatest night since the immortal Lisbon Lions won the European Cup in 1967.

Lennon added: “Tony scored a great goal. He’ll go down in the history books of the club.

“This gives us a great chance of qualifying.

“When I came in I said I wanted to bring the thunder back and I’ve never heard anything like that.

“This is monumental. On the 125th anniversary of the club it was a very special occasion.

“It’s right up there, one of the proudest moments of my career.”

Wanyama said: “This is unbelievable. We have beaten one of the best teams in the world.”
