The transfer of Real Madrid veteran goalkeeper Iker Casillas to Porto appears to be unravelling today, after the Spanish giants failed to reach a compensation agreement with the long-standing player.

According to Spanish sports newspaper Marca, Casillas has agreed personal terms to move to Portugal, but wants to have the two remaining years on his contract at Real Madrid paid to him gross rather than net.

Real has refused to do this, and talks now appear to have broken down with the Spaniard now expected to return to training as early as today.

If Casillas ends up staying at Real Madrid the Spanish giants may just tell de Gea to wait until next summer when he will be a free agent able to strike his own deal with Los Blanco’s.
