Bundesliga runners up Wolfsburg is apparently bracing themselves for a massive bid from Manchester City after having already knocked back a £47 million bid for Kevin De Bruyne from the oil rich club.

City is also not alone in their desire to sign the Bundesliga’s top playmaker with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona also interests in the former Chelsea player.

Meanwhile Wolfsburg has denied that any one club have made an offer for the 24-year-old Belgium international, but admit that could change at any time according to the club’s sporting director Klaus Allofs.

“We do not want to sell him, but it is possible that there will be an offer in the next days,” Allofs said.

“But all the same, we want to keep him in our squad. We want to build a strong team and Kevin is supposed to be a big part of it.

“Anything can happen in football. We are a club which has multiple preconditions in line to convince him to stay.”
