Felipe Santana’s agent has denied that the Borussia Dortmund player is talking to other clubs.

The Brazilian defender has been linked with a move to Schalke 04 with just over a year to go on his current contract with Dortmund.

The 26-year-old signed an initial five-year deal when he joined the German club from Figueirense in 2008, and he is thought to be keen to activate a buy-out clause that would allow him to move to Dortmund’s rivals in nearby Gelsenkirchen.

Having helped Dortmund to two consecutive Bundesliga titles, Santana has found himself edged out of a regular place in the side thanks to the form of centre-backs Matts Hummels and Neven Subotic.

“Felipe Santana is a Borussia Dortmund player,” declared agent Volker Struth.

“He has a contract to go beyond the end of the season. Of course, there are plenty of clubs with an interest in his services. But we are not actually talking to any club about his future.”
