Benzema, Real Madrid, Suarez, Liverpool,

Spain football writer Andy West: “The rumours linking Karim Benzema with a move away from Real Madrid are a little far-fetched – unless Los Blancos have an immediate replacement lined up (i.e. Luis Suarez).

“Benzema is Madrid’s only established centre forward following the summer departure of Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli, and it’s unthinkable that they’d leave themselves with inexperienced youngsters Alvaro Morata and Jese Rodriguez as their only strikers.

“However, Benzema certainly isn’t universally popular at the Bernabeu – he was whistled by some fans during Sunday’s game with Bilbao – so if they can put together a late deal for Suarez they would probably be happy to let him leave.

“One minor Madrid departure has been confirmed: young full back Denis Cheryshev is joining Sevilla on a season-loan following confirmation that Fabio Coentrao is staying at the Bernabeu.”
