In today’s edition of the Sun newspaper Arsenal have reportedly made a £18 million bid for Bayern Munich’s Brazilian midfielder Luiz Gustavo.
The 26-year-old was said to be close to joining fellow Bundesliga side Wolfsburg after it became apparent that there was no place for him in Pep Guardiola’s new team.
On Friday the midfielder told Bayerischer Rundfunk Radio: ”I believe that the English Premier League is of top quality and Arsenal definitely stand out … I love their style of play and I have been watching them for some time now … However, like yourself I do not know what is happening on the other side at this moment.”
Chelsea have also been mentioned as a possible destination, but Arsenal are definitely the front runners as boss Arsene Wenger looks to finally spend some money.
