Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger looks set to miss Germany’s final qualifier for Euro 2016 against Georgia on Sunday after having picked up a thigh injury that kept him out of the team that lost 1-0 to the Republic of Ireland in Dublin last night.

Following the match trainer Joachim Low gave an update on the 31-year-old United star.

“Schweinsteiger probably won’t play on Sunday,” said Low.

“The medical staff said he has to take a break for two or three days.

“He will stay with us and we will see, what is possible. But it does not look like he can play.”

This now means that Schweinsteiger along with Wayne Rooney and Marcos Rojo are all doubtful for the Red Devil’s clash with Everton on October 17th.

Good news however is that Ander Herrera could be fit to play after posting on twitter that he was now back to full training.
