Reports coming out of Spain are suggesting that Barcelona will make a move this summer to sign Liverpool defender Daniel Agger as a replacement for Carles Puyol according to METRO.

The Catalans have had a disappointing season both domestically and internationally with the mood in the Nou Camp suggesting that a major overhaul will take place this summer.

Daniel Agger has been on Barcelona’s radar for some time as a possible replacement for Puyol who is now 36-years-old and ready to retire.

The 29-year-old Agger has the experience to step into the role of central defender for the Catalan giants, and given the fact he has only made 17 starts in all competitions this season under Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers may fancy the opportunity of a new challenge in Spain.

Should Barcelona decide to make a move for the Danish international it will have to be a decent one as Rodgers knows he will need to bring in a replacement with Liverpool playing in the Champions league next season and the demands that will put on his already small squad.
