According to METRO Manchester United is confident of getting Barcelona defender Dani Alves to move to Old Trafford.
The 31-year-old Brazilian is in the final year of his contract at the Nou Camp and is understood to be having negotiations with the Catalan giants over an extension to his current deal.
Reports in Spain however say no progress has been made, allowing the Red Devils to step in with an offer which manager Louis van Gaal is confident he will accept to join his good friend Victor Valdes in England.
