Aubameyang & This 17 Goals 11 Assists Midfielder Set To Become Gunners

According to reports from England, Arsene Wenger has identified Algerian attacking midfielder Riyad Mahrez of Premier League leaders Leicester City and Borussia Dortmund and Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as his summer potential signing.

Mahrez has been a revelation this season as his 16 goals and 11 assists in 33 league apperances has helped Leicester to the top of the League table. Mahrez was signed from Le Havre in French Ligue 2 for a bargain price less than £2 million on 11 January 2014. Aged 25, the winger’s consistent performance has increased his transfer value to more than £30million since the start of the season. At Leicester, Mahrez has linked up perfectly with Jamie Vardy and Okazaki to become a deadly attacking Premier League trio.

The Algerian has also been nominated recently in the PFA Team of the Year in the 2015/2016 season. The form of the Algerian has also led to media sites linking him with the likes of Barcelona as Barcelona legend Xavi went on to claim he had the right quality to make a success in Camp Nou.

Also while Leicester might be ready to let Mahrez to go for the right price, the same cannot be said about Borussia Dortmund who have declared Aubameyang isn’t for sale at any price in the summer. The Dortmund side have been outstanding this season after experiencing a decline last season. With coach Tuchel, Aubameyang has become the most in form striker in Europe apart from the likes of Christiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez and Robert Lewandowski . The Gabonese has scored 23 goals and five assists in 28 Bundesliga games.

It remains to be seen if Wenger would be able to shell out such funds needed in their transfers as he is known for his reluctancy to spend exorbitant funds for
quality players.
