Atletico Madrid Trainer sends a signal to Chelsea

The latest news out of Spain is that Atletico Madrid trainer Diego Simeone is looking to quit the La Liga side this summer in search of a new challenge, with the English Premiership thought to be his preferred destination.

Chelsea has now lost their last three league games under the stewardship of embattled boss Jose Mourinho, which has led to much speculation as to the fate of the 52-year-old Portuguese manager, and whether or not he will face owner Roman Abramovich’s axe.

Should the Russian billionaire decide to cut ties with Mourinho, the 45-year-old Argentinian certainly possesses the qualifications to take over at Stamford Bridge and would be accepted almost immediately by the fans.

Simeone however would not be available till the summer, so it means that Chelsea would have to find a short-term replacement till then.

Brendan Rodgers perhaps?
