Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is urging the powers that be at the Vincente Calderon to use the money they have received from selling Colombian international striker Jackson Martinez to help found a summer bid for Chelsea striker Diego Costa.

Former Porto striker Martinez was sold to Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande for £31 million last month, after having failed to live up to expectations in La Liga, scoring just two goals in fifteen appearances for the Madrid based club.

And now according to Spanish football newspaper Marca via Metro, Diego Simeone wants to be reunited with the Chelsea striker who he sees as a direct replacement for Martinez.

Next summer looks as though it could bring some big changes to the West London club as a new manager is appointed, and Spanish giants Real Madrid reportedly plot a £80 million move for Eden Hazard.

Costa meanwhile has found some form of late, scoring six goals in his last six games, but with all the changes on the horizon and a new man in charge at the Bridge, we can see the 27-year-old returning to his former club providing the price is right.
