Fresh of their historic win against Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabéu the other Madrid team Atletico are focusing their attention on Liverpool’s young Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho with the aim of bringing one of Liverpool’s brightest prospects to the Vicente Calderon according to reports in today’s   Sunday Mirror.

Atletico are having their best La Liga start in year winning seven out of seven games and will make an offer for Coutinho in January  should they make it out of the group stages of the champions League.

Currently the Liverpool midfielder is side-lined with a shoulder injury, but could very well be tempted to move to Spain where he would join the likes of Messi, Ronaldo and Bale in La Liga.

Liverpool signed the 21-year-old from Inter Milan last January for £8.5 million and the creative midfielder soon became a fan favourite after some dazzling performances that have cemented his place in the first team.

Liverpool would certainly not let him leave on the cheap if at all, and you can be sure that there are a few other teams out their monitoring his progress.
