Following yesterday’s 4-0 away defeat to Southampton it is looking as though Newcastle United owner might try to bring in Steve Bruce and Toon Army hero Alan Shearer to rescue the struggling Magpies.

Neil Moxley in the Sunday People thinks that 53-year-old manager Pardew could be sacked as early as this coming week following the abuse he received from the traveling Newcastle fans.

When asked about the criticism he received Pardew said: “They are fair because you can’t get beat 4-0 as Newcastle manager.

“It is tough to take and not that easy to digest and not easy for the players to play under those circumstances.”

“We have to be strong and try and tough it out this week and come back next week.”

Ironically their next game is against the team Steve Bruce currently manages Hull City, but should Bruce be offered the job on Tyneside he would jump at the chance to manage his hometown club, and along with Shearer as a number two would be given time by the fans to turn things around.
