Arsenal told they can go after £40m striker

Arsenal has been unofficially told that they will be free to make a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema after new trainer Rafa Benitez does not see the Frenchman as having a role in his newly organized team.

According to Fichajes.net the Spaniard plans to use Cristiano Ronaldo as a lone centre-forward while moving Gareth Bale out to the left wing.

This if true means that Benzema will become a bench-warmer and given the fact the 27-year-old is at the peak of his playing career, it is almost certain he will look for a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the French international, but knows he could face competition from PSG and several top English teams in his desire to bring Benzema to the Emirates.
