Apparently Arsenal has now added Aston Villa’s £30 million striker Christian Benteke to manager Arsene Wenger’s summer shopping list where he will join £38 million Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
According to the Daily Star Wenger is looking to add quality strikers to his attack who can compete with Olivier Giroud while also helping Arsenal to challenge for the Premiership title along with a good run in the Champions League.
Arsenal certainly has the money available for both Players and whether or not they enter negotiations with the pair remains to be seen.
Benzema would be a quality addition to Arsenal yet we do not know if Real Madrid wants to sell the French international, who has also been linked in the past to Liverpool.
As for Belgium international Christian Benteke, Aston Villa would certainly sell the 24-year-old if Arsenal was to pay their £30 million asking price.
For us here at Soccer Transfers the big Belgium is too similar in style to Giroud, and not the type of player that could adapt easily to the Gunners style of play, so that said we see a move for him as a none starter with Chelsea the most likely destination.
As for Benzema we love him and think he would be a great fit at the Emirates, and if Wenger is serious about signing him he should make overtures to the Spanish giants now.
