Wenger, Arsenal, Bale, Di Maria, Benzema, Suarez,

This sensational claim is being made by BBC journalist David Ornstein who says that the Gunners have targeted four players.

While we have all sat back and wondered what is going on in this summer’s transfer season, and in particular why Arsenal boss Wenger is yet to sign a single player I think I have figured it all out, with the answer being Gareth Bale.

With the exception of Manchester City who have gone out and done their own thing under new manager Manuel Pellegrini signing all their targets earlier in the season all of the other big money clubs have been waiting on the sale of Tottenham’s Gareth Bale.

Despite the long drawn out process you would have to be mentally deficient if you thought that there was any chance that the Welsh Wizard was not going to the Santiago Bernabeu, especially when you look at the cash Spurs have been throwing around this summer.

In the end it is all a domino effect that will see the tiles fall in the following way. Tottenham will announce the sale of Bale either today or tomorrow with Madrid then making an offer for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez allowing Arsenal to make a bid on both Karim Benzema and Angel di Maria.

The capture of Di Maria will also allow Arsenal to recuperate the money they spent on Lukas Podolski who has found it hard to get a regular place in the team, seeing the German move to Schalke, Wolfsburg or Galatasaray.

As for a midfielder former player Mathieu Flamini has been training with the club, and is expected to join on a free transfer with Wenger expected to go back to Newcastle with an improved bid for Yohan Cabaye.

Defence is critical for Arsenal this season with a move for Manchester City’s Micah Richards who is expected to be sold for around £10 million or even Swansea City’s Ashley Williams a possibility.

The Gunners still need a new goalkeeper, and despite being knocked back by Valencia an improved offer should see Vicente Guaita move to the Emirates.
