Arsenal have been dealt a major transfer blow with news this afternoon claiming Juventus are confident they can get to eliminate the buy back clause Real Madrid have inserted into the contract of Alvaro Morata.

Morata has been linked with a move to Arsenal with reports claiming Real Madrid will activate the buy back clause they inserted in his contract when they sold him two years. The reports went further to stay Real Madrid will then sell the player back to Arsenal for £30 million. The buy back clause is said to be at £24 million.

With this report, it means Juventus will be paying Real Madrid more money to retain the services of Morata and stop Arsenal from signing him. This report will sure be sad news for Arsenal fans who have been hoping the Gunners will sign Morata this summer.

Morata would definitely have been a good addition to Arsenal’s current squad but Wenger may have to look elsewhere for reinforcement. But with Cavani recently confirming he is likely to leave PSG this summer, Wenger would do well to go for the South American if the plan to sign Morata fails.

Although Cavani is said to be earning as much as £185,000 a week with PSG which would normally be a problem for Arsenal but reports claim the Uruguayan is ready to take a pay cut in order to move away from PSG where he has not gotten regular playing time.
