According to Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport Arsenal is lining up a bid for Roma defender Kostas Manolas during the current transfer window.
The Gunners however are not alone in their admiration of the 24-year-old who only moved to the Olympic Stadium from Olympiacos last summer for £11 million.
His impressive performances in Serie A last season caught the attention of several scouts including those sent from both Arsenal and Tottenham.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger appears with his summer signings so far keen to challenge for next year’s title, and despite signing Gabriel in January still feels he needs cover for the Gunners back-line.
