Without leaving any doubt for translation Arsenal has told Southampton that they can go and take a running jump if they think that the Gunners are going to let Ronald Koeman’s team take back former Saints defender Calum Chambers on loan.
The England U-21 international has been the interest of several Premier League clubs since moving from St Marys to the Emirates last summer for £16 million, where he enjoyed a successful first-half of the season before falling down the pecking order around New Year.
As things stand however Chambers is very much a part of manager Arsene Wenger’s plans for next season, and is going nowhere.
