Arsenal target could hold the key for Chelsea to sign Costa

Reports out of Spain this morning suggest that Arsenal summer signing target QPR’s on-loan at Newcastle striker Loic Remy could hold the key as to whether Atletico Madrid let Diego Costa sign for Chelsea.

The Mattress Makers are looking at Remy as a replacement for their current top striker and have According to Guillem Balague in AS already been in contact with the Frenchman’s agent regarding a move.

Balague adds that Remy has still not made any decision on where his future lies except to say he would like to play for a top European team.

Newcastle United have given up any hope of keeping the 27-year-old at Saint James Park with his parent clubs manager Harry Redknapp also confirming that he does not expect Remy to return to QPR even if they should gain promotion to the Premiership.

Chelsea meanwhile would like to accelerate the process to have Costa at Stamford Bridge, and should Arsene Wenger still want the former Olympique Lyonnais man for the Gunners he needs to make a move now.
