Sky Sports is reporting that Arsenal striker Joel Campbell will be allowed to join David Moyes at la Liga side Real Sociedad, with no news yet as to whether it is a loan or a permanent move.

The Costa Rican international is yet to start a game for Arsene Wenger this season and now becomes the third striker to leave the club this transfer window joining Lukas Podolski (Inter Milan) and Yaya Sanago (Crystal Palace).

Former Liverpool player Phil Thompson, speaking on the Morning View, said: “It’s a difficult one. If you allow him to go out on loan it will leave you short but you’ve got Welbeck, who will be back soon and Giroud – a player that I like – and you’ve also got Sanchez, who can play as a striker. To me if you can’t find a way to suit his style of play, you cut your losses and let him move – as long as you get a good offer.”
