arsenal,

While the ‘Wenger out brigade’ are staging all forms of protest and boycotting matches, recent report suggest that their wish is about to be granted.

The Sun, in a weirdest of news that the club have stalled on their decision to extend the contract of the manager. It was reported some time last month that the 66-year-old is in talks to extend his stay at the club amidst the protest from fans.

The usual patient fans having endured torrid times from 2005-2013, where they were just content with a top four finish in the League. However, winning the FA cup in two past consecutive seasons (2013/2014 and 2014/2015) meant that the fans were now tasty for major honours.

That was not meant to be, as the team fell flat in the race for the League title. Series of injuries saw them fall out of the EPL title race despite favourites like Manchester United, Manchester City and the defending Champions Chelsea all out of the title chase. This has seen the fans irked and, even more irked, that the manager recently defended the board and even refuses to spend the paltry sum handed to him for transfer business.

With Wenger’s contract ending next summer, it seems he would finally be leaving the club after 20 years in charge. He has repeatedly being linked with a move to PSG and that could be on the cards since it corresponds with Laurent Blanc’s contract expiration at the French giants.

A number of managers are being tipped to replace Wenger at the Emirates stadium, with Ronald Koeman and Diego Simeone all linked with the job.
