Mata, Wenger, Arsenal, Chelsea,

If Arsenal hope to sign Spanish playmaker Juan Mata before the transfer window closes the Chelsea player is going to have to hand in a transfer request.

Spanish playmaker must hand in official request if the Gunners are to tie up a deal before the summer window closes according to David Kidd of  Dave Kidd of the Sunday People.

It was revealed in the Sunday People Sport last week that Arsenal wanted to sign Juan Mata which was confirmed by Arsene Wenger on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old Mata now faces a huge decision knowing that he does not fit in with manager Jose Mourinho’s plans and would most likely face a season on the bench if he were to remain at Stamford Bridge as there is no way that Mourinho has paid £30 million for Brazilian midfielder Willian who plays in the same position as the Spaniard.

Mata was even dropped from the Spanish national team this week ahead of a World Cup qualifier with Finland and knows that in order to get back into the squad he needs to be playing first team football.

Reports yesterday confirmed that the Gunners are interested in German youngster Julian Draxler from Schalke, but for the money they are asking Wenger for a £10 million more could sign both Mata and Torres for Arsenal.
