Former Liverpool and England star Steven Gerrard has named Arsenal attacking midfielder Aaron Ramsey as the best player in his position in England.
Welshman Ramsey started alongside Mathieu Flamini in the Gunners midfield last night, as Arsenal pulled off a stunning 0-3 away win against Greek side Olympiacos to move into the last 16 of the Champions League.
While speaking after the match on BT Sport Gerrard said: ‘Mentally I don’t think he’ll be happy himself playing out wide because he hasn’t got the legs. His quality is all in the middle”.
‘For me, when he’s in that form, he’s the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League.
‘You’ve to play your best players where they want to play and I’m sure he’ll want to be in the middle.’
