Arsenal’s young Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin has heaped praise on manager Arsene Wenger for giving young players a chance while also taking the opportunity to rubbish rivals Manchester City and Chelsea for trying to by success.

Bellerin is a prime example of a Wenger recruit, who after having been signed from Barcelona’s youth academy in 2011 was used for most of last season, despite being only 20-years-old.

And while the Gunners have splashed out £42 million for Mesut Ozil it is still considerably less money than has been spent by their rivals.

“The fans rate that Arsenal don’t just buy players, they make them the players they are,” he told the club’s official website.

“Arsenal fans are really proud of that and I think that’s a great thing.

“When players like Francis, Jack or myself come up, the fans should be proud that their team is doing what they’re doing. That’s a great thing Arsenal do.”
