Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila has issued a “come and get me” plea to Arsenal, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Arsenal will need to spend big to land Frenchman

Arsene Wenger is a long term admirer of the Frenchman, who has previously been likened to Claude Makelele, but is under no illusions that he will have to perhaps break the club’s transfer record in order to land the midfielder who is also attracting interest from both Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

It is reported that Rennes are holding out for £17m for their prized asset and with a holding midfielder appearing to be one of Wenger’s top transfer priorities this summer, M’Vila would certainly fit the bill at Arsenal.

M’Vila revealed he is flattered by the transfer interest, but suggests that the most important thing for him is to ensure that a move won’t hinder his prospects of regular playing time with the French national team:

“Inter, Arsenal, Real — these are great clubs, but if the coach calls you and tells you he wants you to make you play, especially a French coach, it changes everything. The important thing for me is getting playing time for the France team.”
