Arsenal, Chelsea

After having seen their title aspirations falter last season Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is said to have been given £100 million to strengthen the Gunners squad with three locations of prime importance a striker, a right-back and a defensive midfielder.

Up there on Wenger’s list is Real Madrid and German international Sami Khedira who Wenger has identified as a player who can add some bite to a midfield lacking a defensive leader.

Sadly though for the Gunners it appears that Chelsea fresh on their success of signing Cesc Fabregas are leading the race for Khedira who Mourinho knows well after having signed him for Real Madrid in 2010.

Mourinho thinks that Khedira is the perfect player to partner with Nemanja Matic, and is prepared to do what it takes to get the 27-year-old to move to Stamford Bridge in the summer according to the Daily Star.

Meanwhile Khedira is in Brazil with the German national team hoping that they can produce a better result than being knocked out at the semi-final stage in South Africa.
