Arsenal signs Swiss striker for £8 million

According to reports from Sky Germany first published in METRO Arsenal has signed Swiss striker Josip Drmic from FC Nürnberg for £8 million.

Born in Switzerland to Croatian parents and coming up through the ranks with FC Zürich before moving to Germany to play for Nürnberg  where he has made a name for himself attracting the attention of English clubs including Arsenal.

There has been plenty of speculation in recent days of him being signed by Arsenal which was confirmed on Twitter by former German national team manager Lothar Matthaus and forwarded by @JanAageFjortoft a former Middlesbrough striker.

The twenty-one-year-old has had a banner year with struggling Nürnberg scoring 15 goals in 26 appearances for the Bundesliga club, and is exactly the type of young player that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger likes to sign.
